Itinerary
Day 1, Zanzibar to Selous/Nyerere National Park
Our driver in Zanzibar will pick you up from your hotel and then drive you to the airport. You'll fly from Zanzibar to Mtemere Airstrip in Nyerere National Park early in the morning. As soon as you arrive in Selous/Nyerere, our guide will pick you up from Mtemere Airstrip, and then you'll start a game drive. Expect to see elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and the rare African wild dogs. The park is also home to an incredible number of hippos and crocodiles along the Rufiji River. For bird enthusiasts, the park boasts over 440 recorded bird species, making it one of the best birding spots in East Africa. Unlike busier parks, Nyerere offers more private and uncrowded wildlife viewing. At around 10 am, you will have a short breakfast as you proceed with the game drive until lunchtime. Proceed with afternoon game drive, then head to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 2, Selous/Nyerere National Park Game Drive & Hotspring
After breakfast, you'll go for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch inside the park, with a great view of the lakes and different animals. Afterwards, you will head to the hot spring near the mountains, and have a swim or bath if possible, with a beautiful landscape, viewing Nyerere National Park with its animals in the park. After a successful game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3, Nyerere National Park then Fly Out to Zanzibar Airport
Your final morning begins with a peaceful 2-hour boat safari along the Rufiji River at the edge of the park. It’s a perfect way to start the day, watching hippos, crocodiles, and birds in the soft morning light. After the boat safari, you'll head to Mloka village for a short cultural visit. This is a great opportunity to learn about local life, traditions, and customs near the park. You'll then return to the lodge to relax, freshen up, and enjoy your lunch. Our team will transfer you to Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, where you can unwind and reflect on your safari experience.
